About Dr. Youngren
Dr. Youngren has practiced urology since 2001.
In addition to general urology, he has a special interest in treating chronic pelvic pain, overactive bladder, stones, incontinence, urologic cancers, and performing painless in-office no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren is a graduate of Bowdoin College, summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French, and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association.
He loves the challenges of community clinical practice, solving complex problems, while giving relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, he was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness.
When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches.
In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.
I have had several visits with Dr. Youngren to date. He is always kind, listens well, and takes the time to explain things. I have recommended him and would like to thank him for his great care.
Dr. Youngren is a caring professional. He is attentive to my situation and offers practical solutions. He is friendly and allows enough time for a comprehensive visit.
Dr. Youngren is one of the best doctors I have ever seen.
Dr. Youngren has helped in the improvement of my condition through the prescription of physical therapy, low-dose medication, advising the development of my self-awareness regarding incontinence, and recommending PTNS therapy which I intend to take in the near future. I would consider Dr. Youngren a stellar practitioner of medicine who thoughtfully considers various approaches to treatment and then combines them in order to achieve a positive outcome.
Dr. Youngren is very pleasant, and very professional in his approach.
He’s very thorough.
I’m very comfortable with treatment rendered to date and our action plan. He is a very kind doctor.
He is the best urologist who truly cares about his patients and their needs. I would highly recommend him.
The staff is amazing, really one of the best. I am never nervous about calling. They make it so easy.
I enjoy visiting 290 Madison Avenue because its modern in a mid 20th century way—comfortable and inviting.
Dr. Youngren and his staff are terrific! You are not rushed when seeing Dr. Youngren. He spends the time to assure good medicine and a good patient/doctor relationship.
The only doctor I have ever had that will talk with me in the exam for as long as I need, with no interruptions.
He is very thorough, and his staff is very helpful as well. Thoroughly have faith in Dr. Youngren.
He is the best. He takes a lot of time with his patients, unlike most doctors.
Dr. Youngren is the best urologist for me, and I have had a few. He understood my condition, offered sound advice, and treatment options.
If it wasn’t for Dr. Youngren’s diagnosis, I would not be feeling as good as I do now.
The staff is great. They are as accommodating as possible and great with communication.
Knowledgeable and skilled. Excellent care.
Dr. Youngren will explore other options to treat a patient who has a medical condition which precludes him from treating the patient in the conventional manner.
Absolutely an amazing doctor! I have recommended him to four of my friends who have the same sentiment as I... the best!!!
A very genuine doctor who takes his time to help you 100% with whatever you are dealing with.
Dr. Youngren’s support staff represent the caring, efficient office culture that he engenders.
The consistent attention and immediate call-backs which I experienced got me through my condition both physically and emotionally. Thanks!
He is very knowledgeable and up to date. He provides alternatives to invasive exams and follow thorough with medications if needed. He is not out there just to do a biopsy to make money. I went to him for a second opinion and now he is my regular urologist. He’s sharp, to the point, and current in his field. I would recommend him.
I am 81 years old and I can honestly say he is the best doctor I have ever seen. I was impressed with the time he took with me, the way he listened, thoroughly explained everything in detail, and was aware of my past issues. I was also impressed with the advice he gave me and his suggestion about slowly eliminating the medications I had been taking for 17 years. A unique and rare doctor.
Procedure for no scalpel vasectomy is great. I highly recommend him!!! Thanks!!!
